Do I need a freezer?
A freezer is required to properly condition the gel packs. The freezer must be capable of producing temperatures in the -18°C to -20°C (-0.4°F to -4°F) range. It is recommended to freeze the gel packs at least 24 hours prior to shipping the Collection Kit back to the Lab. To ensure that all components fit into the Collection Kit for the return shipping cycle it is important that the icepacks lay flat in the freezer to prevent freezing in an abnormal shape.
***Note: the urine specimens should not be stored in the freezer***
