Urine Requirement†

• Voided urine must be collected at least 1 hour after previous void
• DRE must not be performed within the previous 72-hours
• Minimum 30 mL of urine shipped in provided collection cup with frozen ice pack
• Specimen must be refrigerated until ready to ship to miR Scientific
• Specimen should be shipped within 72 hours of collection date and time
• Specimen must be received in the lab within 7-days of collection

Label Requirement†

• Barcode Label on TRR
• Specimen ID Label on Collection Cup with the following information
  • Urine Collection Date and Time
  • Patient’s First Name, Last Name and Date of Birth

Reasons for Rejection

• Patient < 45 years of age
• Urine:
  • Specimen Temperature > 8°O
  • Shipped without Ice Packs
  • Ice Packs Completely Melted
  • Specimen has leaked out of collection cupŠ
  • Urine grossly contaminated with foreign substances (ie. stool, hair, etc.)
